At Peacock Pest Prevention, we believe pest control shouldn’t harm people, pets, or the planet—especially our precious pollinators like bees. That’s why we’ve chosen the In2Care Mosquito System as our go-to solution for mosquito control. Sure, there are “green” or “natural” sprays out there, but even those can accidentally kill bees and other helpful insects. We think there’s a better way.

Let’s break down the options for tackling mosquitoes: fogging, misting, traps, and our favorite, In2Care.

Fogging uses sprayers—either handheld or truck-mounted—to blast pesticide into the air, targeting trees and shrubs where mosquitoes hang out. The pesticide can be synthetic or natural, but here’s the catch: it doesn’t just kill mosquitoes. Bees, butterflies, and other bugs can get caught in the crossfire, either by flying through the mist or landing on treated surfaces. We don’t love that—it’s bad for the environment, and bugs do play a role in nature, even if we don’t always like them!

Misting is similar but more targeted. Systems are set up around homes, fences, or gardens, releasing pesticide at peak mosquito times. It’s a step up from fogging, but it still risks harming non-target insects. Plus, that pesticide can settle on your kids’ toys or patio furniture—not ideal.

Traps come in a couple of forms. Light traps lure flying insects with a glow, working best at night—but good luck keeping them powered without pricey solar or an extension cord snaking across your yard. Glue traps, often placed in buckets of stagnant water mosquitoes love, can work too—but in mosquito-heavy areas, you’ll be swapping out sticky boards more often than you’d like.

That’s why we swear by the In2Care Mosquito System. It’s designed to target mosquitoes—and only mosquitoes—using their own habits against them. The system lures female mosquitoes to lay eggs in a special bucket. Inside, a safe, natural ingredient stops those eggs from growing into biting adults and takes out the mosquito moms with a method that’s harmless to other insects, pets, and people. Developed with the World Health Organization to fight malaria, it’s also proven to cut down on Zika and West Nile by targeting the mosquitoes that carry them.

There’s one thing to know: In2Care isn’t instant. The water needs to get smelly to attract mosquitoes, and it takes a few weeks to break their breeding cycle. Most customers notice a big drop in mosquito activity by week four. It’s worth the wait for a greener, safer solution.

No method stops every mosquito from buzzing in and biting, but in a world where we need to protect pollinators and find eco-friendly answers, In2Care matches our values at Peacock Pest Prevention.
